Heavy Metal Marketing Strikes a Chord for 2019

The new year is starting strong at Insignia Designs. It’s not just the ramp up in business that indicates the economy is good, but the types of requests from clients at small- to medium-sized businesses regarding signage materials that’s signaling a sea change to me.

Heavy Metal. Yup. People are in the market for authentic, three-dimensional metallic lettering for interior signage. They’re upgrading from foam, PVC and acrylic letters and opting for solid metal and aluminum.

The fabrication process is the same but solid metal is a much stronger and robust substrate, providing the look and feel of high-quality signage. Finishes vary from polished, satin, brushed, stainless, metallic or painted, and can match any company’s color scheme or interior office design.

From business parks to technology companies, start-ups to law firms, dental offices to church halls, I’ve seen a variety of clients moving to a more flashy, bold, strong presence.

They’re looking for designs ranging from one-dimensional metallic overlay window graphics to bold messaging for lobby reception areas where 3D metal lettering offers the look and feel of security, confidence, and boldness.

Personally, I think it’s really cool- and you don’t have to switch all your signage to achieve the impact. Brushed pewter or polished silver accents can be added to existing designs or new metallic messaging added on interior doors, windows and walls. Some clients have simply traded out colored logos for metallic in strategic locations.
