Open Heart Kitchen serves prepared, nutritious meals free of charge to the hungry people of Tri-Valley area. It is the only hot meal program of its kind in the Tri-Valley.  With multiple locations in Pleasanton, Livermore and Dublin they are able to feed the hungry every weekday.

Founded in 1995 as an interfaith effort, Open Heart Kitchen serves more than 281,000 meals annually. They work in cooperation with more than a dozen local food pantries and various non-­profits whose missions promote nutrition and hunger relief.

Open Heart Kitchen’s Senior Meal program is for seniors age 60 and above. It includes a nutritious, well-balanced, senior-friendly meal including side dishes, a salad bar and beverages.

Open Heart Kitchen also provides a Weekend Box Lunch Program. Low-income children who receive free school lunches during the week may be left without a nutritious lunch on weekends. To close this nutrition gap, Open Heart Kitchen distributes boxes containing two healthy lunches to elementary and middle school students of low-income families in the Tri-Valley during the academic year.
