What Is it About Signs Anyway?

Quote my Project!
I am often asked why I chose to hang up my shingle and open Insignia Designs. What was it about signs anyway?

Well, I looked at a lot of different businesses – a lot. But I knew I wanted to run a business that would have a positive impact on people – not just my clients, but their clients, too. What I saw in sign development was the part of corporate sales that I enjoyed the most: being part of the team branding and launch process. As a Vice President of Sales for a large manufacturer, signs and branding were always critical to success, and we launched new products in the same way as our sign clients launches businesses: we developed a color scheme, brochures, messaging, branding, naming, tag lines, and how we’d make the big announcement.

I knew I could continue to bring that value by making signs for others through Insignia Designs – and we would also be part of our clients’ success stories – which is really cool. Signs announce you’ve arrived. They get the public’s visual attention – a challenge these days when the public can be lost in their phone screens while walking. It’s the first ‘greeting’ a prospective customer receives: an invitation to come in and have a good look around.

Since opening, working with sign clients has become even more important to me. Collaborating with my customers, whether they are small or large, is something I enjoy. And they recognize that having been in their shoes, I know there are a lot of necks are on the line and success isn’t optional. Now, after seven years in business, it’s a blast to drive down a street and pass a truck that has been wrapped by Insignia Designs. Or walk past businesses where our signs welcome customers. Or spot one of our signs in a newspaper photograph. Or in a recent @pleasantonchamberofcommerce video by PMZ Realtor Randall Brown, where our sign was in the background during an interview. Helping people succeed gives me a sense of pride. Want to get in front of new clients? Let’s talk about how Insignia Designs can make that happen for you.
