Give us a Quick “Brian” Overview?

A fifteen-year veteran of the sign business, Brian is Production Manager at Insignia Designs and joined the team four years ago. Brian manages their production team, including mentoring and training; monitors quality control and keeps the momentum going on projects; and is responsible for all in-house design, materials, and installations.

Why the Sign Business?

Brian started out in the printing business but as the use of technology increased, he saw the eventual decline of hands-on production. So 15 years ago, Brian switched to the sign business. Like many in the industry, he learned on the job and today enjoys mentoring others to introduce them to the field, too. “I love to be creative and people are unaware of what we do and how creative it can be. I’ve always been conscious of the advertisements I’m exposed to and I like coming up with logos and layouts.”

Best Part of the Job?

First, the people. “Insignia Designs is a good company with nice people. Todd and Carol have high standards and it’s clean and organized. Plus, I get to be creative – even the building of signs is rewarding!” His favorite projects are the car wraps. “It’s the most fun for me- lots of creativity involved. Clients want to see that creative ‘pop’ for their product or identity, so we take time to understand their business. When the clients are impressed with the results, that makes a big difference to me.”

Where Can We Find You Off the Clock?

“I used to play sports, but now I spend my time as an armchair quarterback.” His interest in history has led him to travel internationally, most recently to Quebec, Canada.

How About a Fun Fact?

Brian’s creative outlet used to be woodworking, but working at Insignia Designs changed that. “Here, I get to be creative all day, every day.” And that’s just fine with him.
